Career Elective Certified Transportation Services III

DESCRIPTION:
This course discusses basic computer skills and first-aid techniques useful to transportation services professionals. It also describes several health considerations and techniques for dealing with difficult people. This course is presented in two semesters.

Semester 1 discusses several health-related considerations including misuse of prescription drugs, food-borne illnesses, diabetes, and blood-borne pathogens such as HIV/AIDS. It also describes basic computer functions beneficial to transportation services professionals.

Semester 2 describes appropriate first-aid for several traumas and medical emergencies including anaphylaxis, choking, diabetic coma, seizures, and shock. It also discusses appropriate techniques for dealing with difficult people.
