Online Credit Recovery: A Blended Learning Option

blended-learning-option_123rf19425185Blended learning is an educational model gaining popularity in America today. This model utilizes a combination of online learning and face-to-face instruction in order to enhance the learning experience.

Online credit recovery programs are also on the rise in America’s education system. These programs allow at-risk students a second chance to make up academic credits and earn a high school diploma. Some of the most successful credit recovery programs are those following a blended learning model. These online programs allow students to work at their own pace and present the material in a new and different way, which is often better suited to the students’ learning styles. This flexibility and individualization of the online portion is a huge benefit for most students. Additionally, students benefit from the support of the face-to-face interaction with a teacher. The teacher provides much needed encouragement and motivation, feedback on assignments, and answers any questions the students may have.

By utilizing credit recovery programs in a blended learning environment, the best of both formats are applied in order to help struggling students succeed.
